Today’s the ceremony to move the jikka butsudan contents into our new butsudan.

    A new foundation

Akiko and I ate at this new casual French restaurant in Totsuka, @papavasy. It was soooo good. Recommended!

Diamond princess at oosanbashi pier. Massive & beautiful.

Glad we trim the hedges only once a year!

Shinjuku cool urban space at lunch.

New Oban “Tawashi” Brush, got at the new food shopping complex “Branch Shijo” near Nambu-Shijo station in Yokohama. Needed some things and both this place and Costco were extremely crowded.

Akiko found her Hinamatsuri dolls, while tidying up. This is the primary “hime” princess figure, our beautiful heroine.

Akiko found her Hinamatsuri dolls, while tidying up. This is one of the “daijin” ministers, who were also bodyguards (see the sheaf of arrows). He has an “o-zen” bowl table.

Akiko found her Hinamatsuri dolls, while tidying up. These are the “san-nin kanjo”, the three court ladies who serve sake and sweets. They’re sitting in front of the storage boxes for kimono, that the princess will take with her when she marries, and a “bonbori” lamp with plum patterns.

While tidying up, Akiko found her “Hinamatsuri” dolls. Here are three helper protectors, the “shicho” or “eji”. You can see their expressions are slightly different: they represent the crying drinker “nakijogo”, angry drinker “okorijogo” and laughing drinker “waraijogo”.

Akiko found her ohinasama dolls from when she was a girl. Such detail! Here are three of the “gonin bayashi” musicians, mostly missing their instruments.

Dango san kyodai (the three dumpling brothers) was a popular kids’ song in 1999. I came across it whilst Konmari-ing today.
